The main information about the Engineering Competition organization

1.1. BEST (Board of European Students of Technology) is the general organizer of the competition. The part of competition in Moscow is organized by the local group BEST Moscow (http://BEST-bmstu.ru).

Common terms of reference to Engineering Competitions

2.1. There`re 3 stages in competition:
• November 24, 2016 – The semi-final of Case Study and Team Design (the registration opens at 10a.m. and closes at 11:30a.m.)

• November 25, 2016 – The first day of play-off for Case Study and Team Design (registration opens at 9a.m. and closes at 10a.m.)

• November 26, 2016 – The second day of play-off for Case Study and Team Design (registration opens at 9a.m. and closes at 10a.m.)

2.2. Team Design is a team category, which includes such assignment as the design of the object. The time and resources are limited.

2.3. Case Study is a category, which includes such assignment as finding the solution of problem in such situations: real-world or simulation of real-world example and businesscase.

2.4. The presentation of your solutions must be only in English language. This rule is mandatory for both categories: Team Design and Case Study.

2.5. Time frames for fulfilment the assignments:

Case Study

November 25, 2016 – 8 hours

November 26, 2016 – 2 hours

Team Design

November 25, 2016 – 8 hours

November 26, 2016 – 2 hours

2.6. Time frames for presentation of your solutions:

• Case Study Not more than 10 minutes: 5 minutes for the presentation of your solution and 5 minutes for the jury to ask you questions.

• Team Design Not more than 10 minutes: 5 minutes for the presentation of your solution and 5 minutes for the jury to ask you questions.

2.7. All the terms of reference will be fully described in the assignment.

2.8. Competition place:
November 24, 2016 - semi-final of the local stage - Main Building.
November 25 and November 26, 2016 - local final stage - Hall of laboratory building on the 3d floor.

Terms of reference to the participants of the Engineering Competition

3.1. The students of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University and lecturers of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University can take the part in competition.

3.2. Only registered teams can be the participants of the main local competitions. They must complete pre-registration, all the requirements and the screen test.

3.3. Every team must include 4 participants.

3.4. At least one participant from team must have an intermediate level of English (and higher).

3.5. The team of lecturers must complete the pre-registration and send a letter on the e-mail ( ebec16@best-bmstu.ru), which confirms the participation in the competition. The team of lecturers mustn’t complete the screen test and confirm the level of English language.

3.6. The participation of team of lecturers is going out of competition.

3.7. The team can complete assignment only in one category: Case Study ot Team Design.

3.8. You can`t change the category after the screen test.

3.9. The team can`t leave the venue during the competition. If you do that, your team would be disqualified.

3.10. The team must be in time at the venue when it will be competition for completing the registration and getting resources.

3.11. The winner team must consist only students, who are studying now at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University or PG students.

3.12. The winner teams in both categories (Case Study and Team Design) must take the part in EBEC Baltic 2017.

Terms of reference to the organizers of the Engineering Competitions

4.1. Organizers must afford an opportunity for the participants to get acquainted with the competition regulations.

4.2. The organizing committee must wear a badge and stay at the venue during the whole time of competition.

4.3. The organizer must afford fresh water.

4.4. The organizer must afford necessary resources and stationary materials.

4.5. At the end of the competition, organizers must get the results of the jury, announce the winner and carry out the awarding ceremony.
